Genesi designs, develops and produces low cost, energy efficient computing products using  ARM™ and Power Architecture™ technology. Genesi operates as both an original design manufacturer and a system integrator trading for its own account.

 

A feature of all products is Aura, a proprietary BIOS and hardware abstraction layer that is compatible with either OpenFirmware (IEEE1275) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). Included in the abstraction layer is an x86 emulator, which allows standard PC graphics cores or components to be used with ARM™ and Power™.  

Aura speeds development time for new consumer and embedded products by creating a common interface to a variety of open and closed source operating systems. 

Genesi supports a broad array of software developer communities through PowerDeveloper.org and other operating system/distribution specific websites. Genesi also funds and operates power2PEOPLE.org, a non-profit organization focused on providing information and communication technologies to emerging economies.
