Bill Laumeister voted Chairman SoC Design Hierarchy Technical Subcommittee, Power.org

San Antonio, TX - May 9, 2006 - Genesi announced today that it had been notified by Power.org that Bill Laumeister has been elected Chairman of the SoC Design Hierarchy Technical Subcommittee (TSC) by the committee's members and approved by the Power.org Technical Committee. The SoC Design Hierarchy TSC's mission is to develop and/or adopt specifications and standards to enable creation of a world-class SoC design eco-system around the Power Architecture. The TSC addresses tools, methodology, and design enablers that position the Power architecture at the industry's forefront. The goal is to offer designers the easiest path to a successful microprocessor based System-on-a-Chip design. In leading the SoC Design Hierarchy committee, Genesi will be working in concert with the Power.org /company/community to enhance the opportunity for all member companies in developing SoC technology solutions.

Bill Laumeister is a Genesi Fellow and assists Genesi in an advisory capacity. As a career applications and electronics engineer, Bill has more than 38 years of experience in providing design and oversight to major video IC companies. His previous projects have included video encoders, decoders, genlocks, filters, sync strippers, switches, and various wireless devices; he is well qualified in a number of areas of special interest for our Company to include, high definition digital video products, MPEG, interactive TV, and HDTV. Bill has 19 patents. One of his video communications patents is called VEIL (Video Encoded Invisible Light) and will be included by the U.S. Congress in the "Digital Transition Content Security Act" HR4569, as a patch for the "analog hole". VEIL is also used in commercial verification and it uses TV set light to command toys such as Mattel's "Wheel of Fortune" & Batman, and in interactive advertising for Ericsson and AT&T . A published author, accomplished speaker and inventor, Bill has shared significant royalties from a patent used in all S-VHS and Hi-8 Camcorders and Video Tape Recorders.
