In January 2006, Genesi attended the Debian Graphical Installer Worksession in Casar de Cáceres, Spain.  Casar de Cáceresis is located 300 km away from Madrid, and 11 km away from Cácere, the capital of the Cáceres province.

The topics for the workshop were as follows:

• DirectFB bug squashing
• plans for migration to new graphic libraries (i.e. new gtk+-directfb)
• library reduction and stripping DirectFB
• cdebconf plugins
• port to new architectures (i386, powerpc, AMD64 already exist)
• themability (see #339735)
• fonts (optimal selection / maximum reduction), updated screenshots
• build system improvements (the ultimate goal is to have g-i daily builds)
• new wiki page containing g-i specific debugging tips
• add solution for shell access and log viewing withing g-i
